Stories born from love, imagination and a mother’s dream

The idea for The Cuckoo Library began in the most unexpected and beautiful way—through everyday moments with my baby boy.

I am a corporate professional and a new mother to a nine-month-old son. Like many parents, I often found myself creating little stories while playing with his toys. A toy elephant became an adventurer, a penguin became a loyal friend, and an ordinary playtime slowly turned into a world filled with characters, emotions and imagination. His grandmother also fills his world with stories she heard during her own childhood, passing treasured tales from one generation to the next.

Those small moments inspired something bigger.

I wanted to create stories especially for my son—stories that were joyful, meaningful and beautifully illustrated. I also wanted him to grow up surrounded by good-quality books and to see reading as something exciting, comforting and natural from his earliest years.

Reading was an important part of my own childhood. I was an avid reader when I was young, and so was my son’s father. Books gave us imagination, curiosity and a love of learning. We wanted our child to experience that same joy and to develop a reading habit from the very beginning.

That dream became The Cuckoo Library.

What We Believe

At The Cuckoo Library, we believe that a child’s love for reading can begin long before they learn to read independently.

A colourful picture, a lovable character or a simple story shared with a parent can become the beginning of a lifelong relationship with books. Our aim is to create stories that children enjoy returning to—stories filled with warmth, adventure, imagination and values that are gently woven into the experience.

We want our books to help children discover the joy of reading, build imagination and curiosity, understand emotions and relationships, learn values through memorable stories, and create meaningful reading moments with their families.

Every story at The Cuckoo Library begins with a child’s world in mind.

The characters are designed to feel friendly and memorable. The illustrations are bright, expressive and engaging. The stories are written to be simple enough for young children to enjoy, while still offering enough meaning for parents and children to talk about together.

We believe children’s books should not only teach. They should make children laugh, wonder, ask questions and eagerly turn the page.

Our Journey

The Cuckoo Library began with stories told during playtime, but it has grown into a dream of creating a thoughtful collection of children’s books.

It is a journey inspired by motherhood, family, creativity and a deep belief in the power of stories.

We hope every Cuckoo Library book becomes part of a child’s happy memories—read at bedtime, carried on journeys, shared with parents and requested again and again.
